Malta's latest start up Plait launches this month, bringing the subscription box global phenomemon, to Malta. Now wine lovers, beer enthusiasts and organic consumers can order curated crates that deliver new tastes, tipples and tales directly to their doors. Plait comprises four distinct crates that address several gaps in product discovery and availability in the Maltese market. Co-founders Daniel Fenech and Daniel Zammit are excited to bring Plait’s concept of Great in a Crate to the Maltese market (just in time for Father's Day too).

The Wine Plait is a curated selection of sommelier-selected wines, delivered as a monthly subscription of 3, 6 or 12 bottles.

Co-founder Daniel Fenech explains “There are tens of thousands of wines out there, but most consumers drink the same four or five brands. By working with a sommelier to pick rising stars and hidden gems, Plait will introduce curious consumers to the exciting world of wine”.

The Beer Plait promises to do the same for Malta’s growing group of beer enthusiasts.

With the Organic Plait, consumers can vote with their fork to directly support organic, sustainable farmers while nourishing their families with safe food and staying in budget.

While increasingly preferred by families, organic vegetables are limited in selection and costly at supermarkets. “We listened to consumers, and they want a better way to buy organic in Malta. Plait offers just that,” said co-founder Daniel Zammit. Door-to-door organic deliveries are offered twice weekly. Subscribers can choose a delivery frequency and crate size that suits their family’s lifestyle.

Finally, the Malta Plait delivers a selection of nostalgic and new Maltese foods to Maltese living abroad.

“It’s our cure for homesickness. Many people have already enquired how they can give a subscription as a gift for relatives abroad”, said Fenech.
