Visual artists are being invited to submit pieces of their work for an auction being organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to raise funds for the victims of the 24 August earthquake in Italy.

The auction, ‘Helping through Art’, will be held on 10 October at Palazzo Parisio in Valletta, while the works of art will be exhibited and available for viewing by the general public during Notte Bianca and the following week.

Interested artists should send an email to [email protected] with a short description of the piece being donated, artist details, dimensions of the piece, media used and the estimated price.

The ministry said that pieces submitted for inclusion in the auction should not be controversial in nature, although artists are free to choose any theme to portray.

It said that all works of art proposed need to be of high artistic value and quality and will need to be vetted by an independent evaluation board that will decide which pieces to accept.
