Colour, music and children in costumes dominate the Valletta streets during the carnival break

Political satire, bright colours and excited revellers brought the streets of the capital to life today, as one of Malta's favourite festivities returned to Valletta.

Despite the overcast weather, children on their school holidays and grown-ups alike enjoyed the lively displays of dance and music while showing off their own elaborate costumes.
