Heritage Malta will open Fort St Angelo on 8 September in celebration of Victory Day, between 9:00am and 6:30pm.

Admission goes for €2 per person, with last admission at 6:00pm.

The upper part of the fort, which is managed by the Sovereign Military Order of Malta (SMOM), will also be accessible to the public.

Heritage Malta invited visitors to appreciate the recently concluded major restoration works and enjoy the views, adding that a number of activities will be organised on the day.

To start off with, two masses will be celebrated at the Chapel of the Nativity of the Virgin and the Chapel of St Anne at 9:30am and noon respectively.

Additionally, a Victory Day memorial ceremony will be held next to the memorial of the Great Siege at 10:30am.

Following this, two guided tours, in Maltese and English, will be held at 11:00am and 3:00pm.

The re-enactment groups ‘Compagnia San Michele’ and ‘Show of Arms’, together the Malta Historical Fencing Association, will animate the site with their activities throughout the day.

In the afternoon, visitors can also view the traditional Regatta, a yearly rowing event held in the Grand Harbour, thanks to the fort’s strategic position at the tip of Vittoriosa.
