Fort St Angelo to open its doors to the public next week

Fort St Angelo to open its doors to the public between 9am and 5pm everyday as of 1 November

Fort St Angelo will open its doors to the general public on a daily basis as of next week.

The fort, which was built by the Order of St John in the 1500s, recently underwent a major €14.5 million restoration project, and was last year used as the meeting place for Commonwealth leaders during last year’s CHOGM summit.

As of 1 November, it will be open to the general public between 9am and 5pm everyday, with visitors accepted into the fort up until 4:30pm, and will also include an interpretation centre.

Entrance tickets prices have been set at €8 for adults, €5 for seniors and students, and €3 for children. People can also opt to purchase the Birgu Pass from Heritage Malta, which will grant them access to the Inquisitors’ Palace and the Maritime Museum, as well as Fort St Angelo. These tickets prices have been set at €13 for adults, €9 for seniors and students, and €7 for children.

Heritage Malta said in a statement that the fort will also include an interpretation centre, equipped with the latest technology so as to provide information on its history.
