After that cold, wet season we call the winter, the sunshine seems to be here to stay, and though there have been a few showery days, it seems like the jackets and woollies can be renegated to the back of the wardrobe (or even boxed up and put away for the summer).

Spring brings with it the promise of everything new. New blossoms are taking over our gardens, however, the scorching Maltese sun will soon torch the fragile buds. Vinny Vella, of Piscopo Gardens, will be giving Vida some regular tips to help you look after your gardens in this and future issues, so be on the look out to keep your garden green.

Spring brings with it the usual panic created by those extra pounds piled on over the cold winter. Jovan Reljic talks about the ‘cheat day’ and arguments for and against that once-weekly indulgence. Extra fat bits are not the only thing that makes you feel uncomfortable in a bikini. Air can cause bloating which doesn’t help you achieve that elusive beach body. Daniel Petre talks about some of the biggest offenders when it comes to bloating.
