October brings with it a change of season and everyone beginning to settle into a new routine. Gone are the long days on the beach, to be replaced with the higher productivity that comes with the cooler months.

As soon as we put away our bikinis we can start bringing out the Halloween decorations. This month is all about carving pumpkins and putting on your scariest get up. Do you want to know how the pumpkin came to be symbolic of Halloween? The legend of Jack O’Lantern is a fittingly spooky story to tell at Halloween.

Talking of spooky stories, there are plenty of scary movies that rock the screens around Halloween. But what about closer to home? Malta, steeped in history of battles and lost souls, has its own stories. Though the bright and sunny island is not the perfect backdrop for a scary story, there are plenty of them out there. Check out our favourite local scary stories.

As the summer season closes, the sports season opens and this is the perfect time to get your game food on point. Learn to make a few incredible dips that go perfectly well with a cold beer and game.
