Animae Gospel Choir announces CHOGM Malta 2015 collaboration

‘The People We Are’, composed by Ivan Grech, also features some of Malta’s top singing acts

The Animae Gospel Choir, which is currently working towards its highly-anticipated, up-coming concert the Animae Gospel Choir in Concert 2015, has been chosen as one of the local acts taking part in the official CHOGM Malta 2015 song and music video.

‘The People We Are’, composed by Ivan Grech, also features some of Malta’s top singing acts, including Amber, who forms part of the Animae Gospel Choir, Errol Sammut, Matthew Borg and Jasmine Abela, along with the Malta Youth Orchestra and Peter Borg, Robert Spiteri and Chris Curmi on guitar, drums and bass, respectively.

“We are thrilled to have been chosen to be part of this song and music video,” says Christian Borg, the Director of Entertainment.com.mt Ltd, which manages the Animae Gospel Choir, and the Producer of the Animae Gospel Choir in Concert 2015.

“This comes after three jam-packed years during which we have performed at Westminster Cathedral for Malta Day 2014 and at the 40th Anniversary Celebrations of the Republic, among others,” he continues. “Being a part of this project for CHOGM is an honour and another feather in the Choir’s cap, and we hope those listening to the song will appreciate its powerful message of goodwill.”

News of the CHOGM Malta collaboration came as the Animae Gospel Choir announced a third date for their up-coming concert, which will be their first solo national-scale event in three years. The Animae Gospel Choir in Concert 2015 will take place on Friday 30 and Saturday 31 October at 8pm, and now also on 1 November at 3.30pm, at the Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valletta.

“It’s been a fantastic run-up to the show and tickets have been selling incredibly fast,” says Chris. “That’s why we’ve decided to open up a third date, so as to ensure our audiences have the opportunity to secure a ticket and enjoy our upbeat approach!”

The Choir has also released a new Group Ticket offer for the event, with which audiences will receive a fifth ticket free with every four tickets purchased. In addition, children aged between six and 12 will be able to enjoy the show at half the price on the Sunday matinee. To make use of these offers, concertgoers can choose to call the MCC on 2559 5750 or book in person at the theatre’s booking office in Valletta.
