Father to commemorate fifth anniversary of Amy Winehouse's death with charity concert

Five years have passed since the death by alcohol poisoning of singer Amy Winehouse. Winehouse died at her home in Camden, north London, at the age of 27.

"On arrival, officers found the body of a 27-year-old female who was pronounced dead at the scene," reads a police statement from the time. Her death was later attributed to alcohol poisoning.

The singer had a troubled history with drugs and alcohol problem and her behaviour had become increasingly erratic as the pressure of fame built up. One tour was cancelled after she was unable to sing onstage.

The artist's father Mitch Winehouse, himself a musician, has organised a concert tomorrow at a Camden jazz club to raise money for the Amy Winehouse Foundation, a charity set up by her family to help others with drug and alcohol problems.

Mitch himself will be performing songs that he and his daughter both loved in what is expected to be an emotional tribute to Winehouse and her legacy.
