Yada to pay tribute to King of Pop in up-coming annual show

Yada dance company will be celebrating its 26th anniversary this year with a tribute to the life, art and music of the late king of pop, Michael Jackson.

‘Michael Jackson Forever’ is expected to take the audience on a four-decade musical expedition of his chart-topping hits. Glittery jackets, gloves and the infamous Jackson moves should create a sensational dance event early next year.

‘Bad’, ‘I Just Can’t stop loving you’, ‘The Way you make me feel’, ‘Dirty Diana’, ‘Black or White’, ‘Beat it’, ’Thriller” and many other songs are expected to colour this year’s Yada show, which will feature 350 dancers, gymnasts and guest artists.

Michael Jackson is one of the few artists to have been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame twice. He was also inducted into the Dance Hall of Fame as the first, and currently only, dancer from the world of pop and rock 'n' roll.

Michael Jackson’s dominance as an icon of popular culture is greatly owed to his
contribution to the world of dance through his unforgettable live performances,
popularised dance techniques and music videos.

The ‘robot’ and the ‘moonwalk’ are two of MJ’s signature dance techniques launched in videos like "Beat It", "Billie Jean" and "Thriller".

Michael Jackson’s "This Is It", his last scheduled tour, would have been Jackson's first major series of concerts since the “HIStory World Tour” in 1997.

YADA’s ‘Michael Jackson Forever’ show will be held at MFCC between 25-27 March 2011
