MCESD sponsors shadowing experience at Italian, Brussels counterparts

The Malta Council for Economic and Social Development provided participants with experience abroad in the Italian and EC's social partners' fora

The Malta Council for Economic and Social Development (MCESD) provided an opportunity to two individuals to have hands on experience at another Economic and Social Committee and consequently gain an insight into the modus operandi.

The project, which was part-financed through the Leonardo da Vinci Programme – People in the Labour Market, was embarked on as social dialogue requires constant communication between local, European and international stakeholders, a statement by MCESD reads.

It added that the first participant spent two weeks at the Consiglio Nazionale dell’Economia e del Lavoro (CNEL) in Rome whilst the second job shadowing experience was done at the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) in Brussels.

The project was also created to gain a better understanding on two specific issues of interest to the Council, namely Islands and Entrepreneurship and Female participation in Social Dialogue.
