BRND WGN named National Champion in the European Business Awards

BRND WGN was selected for its international growth strategy, after being nominated for the EBA earlier this year

Digital creative agency BRND WGN has been named National Champion for Malta in the European Business Awards (EBA).

BRND WGN was selected for its international growth strategy, after being nominated for the EBA earlier this year. The agency will now go on to compete against the winners from other countries in the category.

“We’re very honoured to have won the Elite Award for Growth Strategy for Malta. At BRND WGN we centre our growth strategy around sustainability. Internally, we focus on areas we need to enhance to provide strategic, creative ideas to industries and services we are interested in and those close to our hearts,” said agency COO Gareth Sciberras.

CEO and founder Peter Grech added: “BRND WGN has grown into a strategic, creative, powerhouse. Our success is mostly due to having the right people in the right place. People who are passionate about their work and have a shared vision and goals.”

EBA CEO Adrian Tripp said: “Congratulations to BRND WGN and all the companies that have been selected to represent their country as National Champions, they play an important part in creating a stronger business community.”

The European Business Awards, now in their ninth year, are sponsored by international audit, tax and advisory network RSM. The awards are supported by businesses leaders, academics, media and political representatives from across Europe.

This year EBA engaged with over 32,000 businesses from 33 European countries and, on September 1, 678 companies from across Europe were named National Champions in 10 categories. Six Maltese companies were among those chosen (See list: http://www.businessawardseurope.com/national-champion/co/Malta/2015).

The Elite Award for Growth Strategy category, sponsored by UKTI (UK Trade and Investment), was awarded to businesses demonstrating an international organic growth strategy that achieved outstanding levels of sales, profit and market share improvement.

The National Champions will now make a presentation video, telling their unique story and explaining their business success. A panel of judges will view all videos and award the best of each group the prestigious Ruban d’Honneur status. Ruban d’Honneur recipients will be part of the grand final in 2016.

Meanwhile, the National Champions’ videos will be made public on the EBA website as part of a two-stage public vote to pick: a National Public Champion per European country (to be announced on March 7 2016) and one overall European Public Champion (to be announced in June 2016). Public voting will not influence judges’ results.
