HSBC wins 'The Banker' awards

HSBC won seven prizes in The Banker magazine’s Investment Banking Awards 2015, including the accolade for Most Innovative Investment Bank of the Year.

The bank was also named Most Innovative Investment Bank in Western Europe as well as Most Innovative Investment Bank for Emerging Markets, Risk Management, Project and Infrastructure Finance, Bonds, and Sovereigns, Supranationals and Agencies.

HSBC was recognised in The Banker magazine’s editorial for its expansion into Chinese renminbi markets and its successes in the euro bond market. The Banker highlighted HSBC’s innovations in risk management and infrastructure financing as well as its strength in sovereigns, supranationals and agencies advisory during what was a challenging 12 months for developed and emerging markets.

The Banker said the awards won by HSBC reflected it is “best in class” using a model that brings together staff from different disciplines and teams to serve clients.

The Banker received more than 200 individual submissions from banks around the world for the awards, which were evaluated by an external panel of judges as well as an internal committee of editors. Judges and editors were asked to rank their top three submissions in each category and then comment on their choices. The winners were then chosen from the combined results. The overall winner was selected based on the amount and quality of their individual category wins.
