Banif’s ‘Casual Fridays’ initiative raises €2,000 for charity

Banif staff keep on giving through Casual Fridays dress-down and charity initiative

Banif Bank’s Casual Fridays have raised €2,000 for different causes in the first half of this year.

On the last Friday of every month, Banif employees dress down and make a small donation towards a different cause, often recommended by an employee. The initiative empowers the team to take on a more hands-on approach to philanthropy by participating in lining up causes, and indeed by sometimes volunteering and becoming involved in the charity.

The Bank did its part to support institutions that provide valuable services to others. These included the St Jeanne Antide Foundation, Paulo Friere Institute, St Joseph Home, Emergency Fire and Rescue Unit, ALS and Transplant Support Group (Malta).

“Everyone enjoys coming into the office in jeans and tees once in a while, especially during the summer months,” said Keith Borg, Banif team member whose suggestion of a beneficiary was taken up.

“But what makes our Casual Fridays a truly exceptional initiative is the fact that each of us gets to chip in and make a difference to a cause we truly believe in and chose ourselves. A little can go a very long way indeed, both in terms of creating a more positive workplace and in coming together to help those in need!”
