Investors can now trade Maltese stocks online for the first time through Calamatta Cuschieri’s updated online platform.

The CC Trader mobile app was originally only available for trading on foreign markets, but will as of today also allow investors to trade on the 23 companies listed on the Malta Stock Exchange.

The updated app will also give investors access to the live order book of each individual security trading on the stock exchange, hence allowing them to view live volumes and the corresponding ask and bid prices on the MSE before placing orders.

Calamatta Cuschieri’s co- chief executive Alan Cuschieri explained that this new feature will allow investors to gauge the supply and demand for stocks.

He was speaking to the press at the launch of the updated online trading platform at the Malta Stock Exchange in Valletta, along with MSE chairman Joseph Portelli.

“We believe that this update is a revolution for investors who trade on the MSE and CC Trader, and it will facilitate local investors immensely,” Cuschieri said. “We hope that this app will help boost traffic on the Malta Stock Exchange.”

Between 4,000 and 5,000 people currently use the CC Trader app on a regular basis.
