Fexserv Financial Services, together with NTT DATA of Japan, launched today the integrated mobile payment app Myney. The app allows users to pay in shops, transfer money and also to send gift vouchers directly to their phone.

Economy minister Chris Cardona and finance minister Edward Scicluna were present for the launch.

A number of support partners were also present, including representatives from Western Union, Deutsche Bank, IDF Financial Services, MySafePay, and Global Payment Services.

Fexserv chairman Tony Zahra said that he was very happy with the app and that he looked forward to eventually taking the app abroad.
“This app will change the way transactions take place, and payment charges will be coming down thanks to Myney,” Zahra said.

“Malta is a global business island, and always holds out the hand of sincere friendship to entrepreneurship,” Cardona added.

Scicluna also welcomed the app, saying: “It will help Malta reduce the amount of cash used since Malta has the highest per capita rate of cash which is not good or efficient.”
