The Ministry of Justice, Dialogue and the Family, in collaboration with the civil society committee within the Malta Council for Economic and Social Development, will be holding an open dialogue session for safer communities and improved accountability, as part of its participation in the Open Government Partnership (OGP).
The dialogue will be held on 2 March at the Westin Dragonara Resort, St Julian's.
The OGP is a global effort to make governments act more transparent and accountable with citizens.
"Implementing these policies requires investment and sustained effort, and a dialogue of collaboration between governments and civil society. The Maltese government is committed to the OGP after signing to it in July last year," the ministry said.
The principles of OGP are namely those of promoting transparency, empowering citizens, fighting corruption and harnessing new technologies which are all in line with the government's views and policies.
The ministry said it will be focusing on creating safer communities and increasing corporate accountability.
Chris Said, Minister for Justice, Dialogue and the Family, will address the dialogue.
