The crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea are the source of much enjoyment for many Maltese however for Sebastian Ripard and Benji Borg the sea is more than just a playground. Aiming to qualify for the Olympic Games in 2012 and winning a medal in 2016, for the boys the sea is day at the office, a training ground and somewhere to relax.
Friday 27th July 2012 is just one of the 365 days which makes up a calendar year. But for many young determined sportspersons and their various technical and admin background collaborators this date stands out exclusively on next year’s almanac.
Youth is such an exhilarating phase of life. For although at this tender age one could lack knowledge, practice, skill and expertise such constraints are outshined by youngsters natural outlook which is gifted with a great spirit of adventure, challenge, opportunities and achievement.
13 year-old Pavel Rasskazov (RUS 24) was on Tuesday night declared overall winner of the 11th Euromed Malta Championship following an inspiring display in a record-entry event.
The Russian contingent made up of eighteen sailors, under the guidance of two coaches, Sergey Semanov from the Rautu Sailing Team of St. Petersburg and Ekaterina Maximova from the SC Paruskin also of St. Petersburg, were the first to arrive to participate in the 11th Edition of the Euromed Malta Championship.
