Atlas promotes 'Saħħtek' health and wellbeing study

Since testing began in November 2014, the team have already identified 25 newly diagnosed diabetics and 45 already known diabetics. This means that they are picking up 1 to 2 newly diagnosed diabetics per week.

Atlas Insurance has just launched a new quiz on its Facebook page, linked to its sponsorship of Saħħtek, the University of Malta’s health and wellbeing study. The quiz has been developed by the Saħħtek team for Malta.

By completing the quiz, participants will learn how at risk they are of being diagnosed with diabetes, one of the main conditions being studied by the Saħħtek team. The aim of the nationwide study is to determine the number of people suffering from conditions like diabetes and hypertension in Malta.

Since testing began in November 2014, the team have already identified 25 newly diagnosed diabetics and 45 already known diabetics. This means that they are picking up 1 to 2 newly diagnosed diabetics per week.

People chosen for the study will be assisting the Saħħtek team to learn more about the health situation in Malta. Since the testing includes a free check-up, those being tested will also get more information about the state of their own health.
