The Health Department and the Union Haddiema Maghqudin (UHM) managed to come to an agreement regarding the working environment of podiatrists at health centres, bringing to an end an industrial action which spanned for days.

Meetings between the Health Department and the UHM brought the two sides to an agreement on the implementation of a reform in the way the podiatry clinic in primary care is governed, the health ministry said in a statement.

One of the terms of the agreement was the recruitment of a number of allied assistants to assist podiatrists in their work in health centres, which will take place in the coming days.

According to the health ministry, as of today, the UHM has withdrawn its industrial actions which have been on-going for the last several days.
