On World Cancer Day, President announces TV sets for each bed at oncology centre

Cancer support organisations set to join forces in new association to raise awareness, provide better support

Marking World Cancer Day, President of the Republic Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca announced that each hospital bed at the Sir Anthony Mamo oncology centre will be equipped with a TV set.

Coleiro Preca was accompanied by the chairman of the board of administrators of the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation, John Camilleri.

The TV sets will be donated by the MCCFF.

The President also announced that the National Cancer Platform – which includes 15 NGOs – will be coming together in an association. The move should ensure that the NGOs hold a stronger voice in their work to support patients and awareness campaigns.
