Malta Tourism Authority takes prize as best overseas convention bureau at Meetings and Incentive Travel Magazine Awards

The Malta Tourism Authority has been crowned one of the top overseas convention bureaus in the UK, winning bronze at the Meeting & Incentive Travel magazine awards held last month in the UK.

Voted for by the readers of Meeting & Incentive travel magazine, the awards bring together the the industry's key players during a charity event aimed at raising funds for the Save the Children charity organization.

In addition to the Malta Tourism Authority's award, Maltese company EC Meetings also picked up a bronze award for Best Destination Management Company.

The islands have hosted everyone from HM Queen Elizabeth II, together with the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting (CHOGM) to global FTSE 100 companies.   Recent conferences held in Malta include the Thoratec Symposium 2012 for 200 delegates organised by venuesworld.com; the International Council of Nurses that brought over 2,300 delegates from 127 countries and the Foetal Medicine Foundation conference for 1500 medical professionals from 80 countries.
