Luxurious cruise ship expects to bring in 160,000 passengers to Malta next year

The largest cruise ship of Swiss-based cruise company MSC Cruises will next year operate Malta to Malta cruises, in what is expected to bring a total of 140,000 passengers to the island.

The MSC Preziosa will operate its cruise for 31 consecutive weeks between 26 April and 15 November, carrying passengers from Malta to Malta via Valencia, Marseilles, Genoa, Rome and Palermo.

The cruise liner will call at Malta’s Grand Harbour every Tuesday. MSC Cruises said that around 5,000 Maltese passengers are expected to cruise in luxury aboard their “latest jewel”.

The luxurious MSC Preziosa, 12th addition to the MSC fleet, carries up to 4,300 passengers and employs 1,388 staff onboard. It boosts seven restaurants, a yacht club with its own spa, bar and pool, a casino, a Broadway-scale theatre, a water slide, and children’s aqua park. All rooms are at least en suite standard.
