The Home Affairs Ministry has ordered the Malta Police Force to take down a video it uploaded online promoting advice to tourists visiting Malta.

The Police’s communications office confirmed the video was no longer available despite making the rounds on Facebook. No explanation was forthcoming.

The video has now been uploaded on TV presenter John Bundy's YouTube page.

Filmed, directed and produced by the Malta Police Force, the video featured Superintendent Sharon Tanti giving advice to tourists – including on how to cross the roads and to avoid skinny dipping and “running around in bikinis” as this is illegal.

The video makes several references to foreign students, more specifically when warning against excessive drinking and jumping from heights into the sea.

Sources said the video was removed on orders of the Ministry for Home Affairs. It is unclear who ordered the removal or why.
