A resident from Attard who found markings on his telecom alerted the police that his house could be the next target following a spate of burglaries that hit Sliema, using the same method.

The resident, who preferred to remain unnamed, told MaltaToday the he found doodles on his intercom. A police officer reportedly told him that the markings were a message that said the house “was available on Sunday mornings between 10am and midday”.

The timing coincided with the residents’ habitual routine to attend mass on Sunday morning.

A second marking allegedly meant that it was very easy to escape through the rooftops.

Meanwhile, policemen in Sliema searched rooftops across Dingli Street following reports that two young men were acting suspiciously yesterday evening.

The two, said to be aged between 20 and 30, were seen on a rooftop but ran off when they hard the police sirens.

The two were caught on CCTV and residents also managed to take a snap or two of the duo. One of them was shirtless while a second was wearing a hoodie.

The incident happened on Sunday evening and the two have not yet been found.
