Slippery road sent car onto the wrong side of the road

A female driver was rushed to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance after she was involved in head-on collision in Sa Maison limits of Pietá earlier this afternoon.

The accident happened before 2.00 pm when a Chevrolet driven by the woman was going from Triq ix-Xatt and turning to Xatt it-Tiben towards Floriana. Due to the slippery road after a some rainfall, the Chevrolet skidded and went on the other side of the road.

At the same time an Isuzu ELF truck was coming from the opposite direction and a collision occurred.

An ambulance gave first aid to the driver who was then taken to Mater Dei Hospital where she was treated for the injuries.
