Polidano Group calls on media to get their facts straight after denying site of incident ws cleared before police arrived on site

The Polidano Group management categorically denied allegations as reported in sections of the media that they gave instructions to clear the scene were a worker was injured on Friday before the authorities arrived on site.

"The incident was reported straight away to the authorities and the police arrived immediately on site and took over the scene," the company said.

A 34-year-old man from Haz-Zebbug was rushed to Mater Dei Hospital for treatment after a forklifter he was operating toppled over at the Polidano Bros site in Hal Farrug.

It is understood that fellow employees rushed immediately to help the worker. The assistance of the Civil Protection Department (CPD) was not required. An ambulance was called on site.

The management condemned such allegations and warned it will hold responsible "whoever is responsible for such rumours. On the other hand the management appeals to the media to get their facts straight before making such statements."
