Over €2,000 stolen in Swieqi supermarket robbery

Over €2,000 in cash have been stolen from a supermarket in Triq ta’ l-Ibragg in Swieqi yesterday at about 9:15pm.

Preliminary investigations revealed that an armed man entered the shop and requested money from the cashier.

The thief stole about € 2,500 in cash and fled the scene. No one was injured during the incident.

The duty Magistrate has appointed an inquiry into the case. Police investigations are ongoing.
