Man stabs wife’s lover after finding couple in bed

A husband who returned home only to find his wife in bed with another man was arraigned in court this afternoon accused of having stabbed his wife’s lover.

The man, whose name cannot be published by court order, was granted bail against a €5,000 personal guarantee. The defence is arguing that his actions were excusable.

It transpires that the wife’s lover threw a mug at the husband. The defence is saying that the husband had been threatened and provoked.

The husband has been ordered by the court not to approach the wife. He will be staying at his parent’s house.
