Man hit by a vehicle in Triq Nazzjonali, Blata l-Bajda

A man was injured in a traffic accident that occurred on National Road, Blata l-Bajda, near Portes des Bombes.

The accident happened at 6:50pm.

The man, a 24-year-old Somali national, residing in Birzebbugia, had alighted from a bus outside Portes des Bombes, when he crossed the road.

A Suzuki Alto driven by a 33-year-old woman from Santa Venera driving towards Valletta, ran the man over as he crossed the road.

He was taken to Mater Dei Hospital with an ambulance, but his condition is not yet known. The female driver was said to be suffering from a shock. The Hamrun Dirstict Police are investigating the accident.
