Two drivers, young passenger injured in Zurrieq car accident

Two cars collided Triq il-Belt Valletta, Zurrieq, at about 12:45pm

Two drivers and a passenger were hospitalised earlier this afternoon after a traffic accident in Zurrieq.

Police investigations showed that a 64-year-old woman, residing in Fgura was driving a Subaru Vivio, when for an unknown reason a collision occurred with a Toyota Hiace, driven by a 22-year-old man, residing in Ghaxaq. The incident took place in Triq il-Belt Valletta at about 12:45pm.

The woman and the passenger, a 4-year-old boy, residing in Zurrieq, were assisted by members of the Civil Protection Department and were taken to Mater Dei Hospital by means of an ambulance, together with the other driver involved.

The woman was later certified to be suffering from life-threatening injuries, while the condition of the other persons is not yet known.

Investigations by the district Police are still underway.
