French national hit by car in St Albert’s Street, Gzira, was carrying 65g of cannabis • will be arraigned in court after hospital discharge

A French national who has ended up in hospital after he was hit by a car will also end up in court after 65g of cannabis were found in his possession, MaltaToday has learnt.

The 25-year-old man suffered grievous injuries when he was hit by a car in St Albert’s Street, Gzira. Medical and police assistance was called on site, only for the Frenchman to be found in possession of drugs and an undisclosed amount of cash.

He will thus be prosecuted once he’s discharged from hospital.

According to the police’s communications office, the man was hit by a Toyota Cami, driven by a 54-year-old man residing in Gzira. An ambulance took him to Mater Dei Hospital where he was certified to be suffering from grievous injuries.
