Updated | 17-year-old boy critical following accident at St Thomas's Bay

Teenager in critical condition after htting his head at St. Thomas's Bay in Marsascala

A 17-year-old boy who was taken to hospital after being involved in an accident at St. Thomas’s Bay, Marsascala, has been certified as critical.

The police have confirmed that the young man hit his head after jumping into the sea at around 12.40 today.

The young man, a Zabbar resident, is believed to have hit his head against rocks at the bottom of the sea.

He was given first aid on the scene,  but then rushed to Mater Dei hospital where he, was certified as critical and he is being given the necessary medical attention.

A magisterial inquiry is currently underway.
