Man dies after an argument in MIA carpark, cause of death unknown

A 35-year-old man, from Mqabba, has passed away in hospital after an argument at the Malta International Airport’s carpark, yesterday.

The police communications unit could not confirm how the man died, leaving it open to speculation as to whether his demise was linked to the altercation. 

Asked whether the two men were taxi drivers, the CMRU said it was not in a position to reveal 'personal information'. 

The incident occurred at 4.30pm yesterday, when police received a call for assistance. Officers at the airport found the man on the ground, receiving first aid. 

The second man, a 34-year-old man residing in Fgura, is being held by the Police.

Police investigations are still ongoing to establish what happened. A magisterial inquiry has been appointed.
