Elderly shoe shop owner injured in armed hold-up

66 year old man injured after two armed and hooded robbers break into his Rabat shoe stop and take off with a 'considerable amount of money' 

A 66-year-old man was hospitalized after suffering injuries at an armed hold-up at his shoe store in Rabat.

Police said that two hooded robbers, armed with a knife, entered the shop shop in Triq il-Kullegg, Rabat, at around 4pm and made off with a “considerable amount of money”.

The store owner, a 66 year old man from St. Paul’s Bay, was injured during the robbery and was later escorted to hopsital.

The extent of his injuries are as yet unknown, but he is not in danger of dying.  

Police investigations are ongoing and an inquiry has been appointed.
