Arubans arrested at airport after cocaine find

Police arrest Aruban couple at airport after finding them in possession of 800 grammes of cocaine

Drug squad police have arrested two people from the Caribbean island of Aruba after finding them in possession of cocaine at the airport.

The police said in a statement that they arrested a 41-year old man and a 30-year-old woman, both in possession of Dutch passports, after receiving information that they were carrying capsules containing drugs at the airport.

Medical tests at Mater Dei Hospital confirmed that they were carrying capsules weighing a total of 800 gramms of cocaine.

The Arubans were arraigned under arrest in Court and accused of importing and aggravated possession of cocaine. Request for bail was refused.
