Pedestrian run over by car, grievously injured

A 54-year-old pedestrian from Birkirkara was grievously injured after he was hit by a car in Burmarrad this afternoon.

The incident occurred at around 2:10 when a Mercedes driven by a 52-year-old Ukrainian woman residing in St Paul’s Bay hit the man in Triq Burmarrad, Burmarrad.

She was driving towards Mosta.

An ambulance conveyed the man to Mater Dei Hospital where he was certified to be suffering from grievous injuries.

He is not in a critical condition.

Police investigations are ongoing.
