Fire breaks out at factory in Bulebel

A fire has reportedly broken out at a factory in the Bulebel industrial estate.

Eyewitnesses said the fire broke out in an area where containers were stored at factory which produces detergents. The blaze spread to most of the factory, causing extensive damage.

The police said nobody was present in the factory during the fire but workers in adjoining factories were evacuated.

Civil Protection Department members and a number of fire engines went on site to stifle the flames.

Thick clouds of black smoke could be seen billowing upwards from most of the country.
