Updated | 67-year-old man suffers grievous injuries after Imqabba accident

67-year-old Zurrieq resident has suffered grievous injuries, but is no longer critical following head-on collision in Imqabba last night.

A 67-year-old man has suffered grievous injuries following a traffic accident in Triq Tas-Sejba, Imqabba yesterday afternoon.

The accident occurred at around 4.30pm, when the 67-year-old Zebbug resident collided his Mazda 323F into an oncoming Honda Civic, being driven by a 21-year-old woman, who is also a Zurrieq resident.

Two ambulances were called to the scene, with the drivers being rushed to Mater Dei hospital for further medical attention. The man, who was initially classified as critical, is suffering from grievous injuries, but the girl’s condition has not yet been established.

Duty magistrate Dr. J. Demicoli LL.D is at the helm of the ongoing investigation into the accident.
