Updated | Youth ran over by taxi, passenger seriously injured in crash

Three people were injured, two grievously, in two separate traffic accidents last night, police have said.

In the first incident, a 17-year-old youth was seriously injured after he was ran over by a taxi in St Paul’s Bay. The taxi, a BMW, was being driven by a 24-year-old man from Zurrieq.

The accident happened at around 9pm on Triq l-Erba’ Mwiezeb.

In a separate incident, three Italians were injured after their BMW crashed and flipped over in Triq Sant’ Andrija, Swieqi at around 5:30am.

A 37-year-old passenger was seriously injured in the crash, while a 29-year-old passenger and the driver of the vehicle were slightly injured,

The injured were rushed to Mater Dei Hospital where they are receiving treatment for their injuries.

Police investigations are ongoing.
