Three people hospitalised following collision, one grievously injured

Three women have been hospitalised, one of whom suffered grievous injuries, after their car collided with another in Zebbug

Three women were conveyed to hospital yesterday evening at about 9:30pm after a collision between a Fiat Punto and a Ford Focus in Mdina Road, Zebbug.

The Fiat Punto was being driven by a woman, 23, resident of Paola, while the Ford Focus was being driven by a 20-year-old man, resident of Mosta.

Both drivers had passengers with them in the car. They woman was accompanied by a 40-year-old woman, resident of Santa Lucija and a 46-year-old woman resident of Xghajra. A 17-year-old girl, resident of Mosta, and a 22-year-old man, resident of Birkirkara, were passengers in the Ford Focus.

The three people in the Fiat Punto were conveyed to Mater Dei hospital by an ambulance in order to receive medical treatment. Later it was declared that the 40-year-old woman was suffering grievous injuries while the other two women suffered minor injuries.

Members of the civil protection department were also on the scene.

Police investigations are still underway.
