A court has jailed a 31-year-old Ghanian man who admitted to trying to use a fake ID card to travel to Sicily.

Appearing before magistrate Donatella Frendo Dimech this morning, Emmanuel Tawiah Fuah pleaded guilty to charges of having tampered with an Italian ID card, which he knowingly made use of yesterday as he tried to make his way to Sicily on Monday.

In view of his admission, the court found Fuah guilty as charged, jailing him for two months.
