Pedestrian injured in Qormi traffic accident

A 60-year-old man from Qormi has suffered grievous injuries after he was hit by a car.

The incident happened at around 2.30pm in Mdina Road Qormi, as the man was walking on the sidewalk.

The car, a black BMW, was being driven towards Haz-Zebbug when the accident occurred, with the vehicle crashing against an electricity pole. The car was being driven by a 22-year-old man from Fgura.

Members of the Civil Protection Department were called in to assist the pedestrian, who got trapped.

The pedestrian reportedly suffered grievous injuries to his leg.
