Armed man makes off with cash from Rabat hold-up

An armed and hooded man made away with an unspecified amount of money after yet another hold-up, this time in a Rabat clothes shop.

Police said they were informed at around 7.45pm on Wednesday that a masked man had entered the shop in St Paul Street and ordered the cashier – a 24-year-old woman from Birkirkara – to hand him the money, before running away.

Duty magistrate Caroline Farrugia Frendo was informed of the case and appointed a number of experts to assist in the inquiry.

Police investigations are ongoing.
