Two elderly persons hit by car outside Mater Dei hospital
A 69-year-old man and a 67-year-old woman were hospitalised for grievous injuries sustained in a traffic incident
Two elderly persons have been hospitalised for grievous injuries sustained after being hit by a car.
The incident happened within the hospital grounds, on the road leading up to the main entrance of Mater Dei.
The police said the injured persons were a man and a woman, both from Tarxien, aged 69 and 67 respectively.
The car involved in the incident is a black Honda Fit, driven by a 35-year-old man from Mtarfa.
A photo of the incident broadcast on TVM showed a bag trapped underneath one of the car’s front tyres. According to the same news outlet, the woman was pulled out from underneath the car.
