Cyclist hit by car on Coast Road

A cyclist suffered grievous injuries when he was hit by a car in Triq ir-Ridott – corner with the Coast Road – in Bahar ic-Caghaq.

The police said that the incident happened at around 7.45am when the cyclist, a 36-year-old of St Julian’s, was hit by a car. The car, a Toyota Vitz, was being driven by a 29-year-old man of Naxxar.

An ambulance was called on site and the cyclist was taken to Mater Dei hospital for medical treatment.

The police are still investigating.
