Five men aged between 19 and 37 arrested, just a stone's throw away from Hamrun police station

A 19-year-old man was amongst five men arrested on suspicion of trafficking heroin.

The men were arrested this afternoon after Drug Squad police swooped down on Pjazza San Pawl in Hamrun, just a stone's throw away from the town's police station.

Police arrested five of those searched, aged between 19 and 37, after they were found in possession of suspected heroin and cannabis.

The men are being held for further questioning.

Police investigations are ongoing.
