Man crushed to death in elevator shaft

A magisterial inquiry has been launched into the death of a man, who was crushed by a lift.

The incident happened in Triq Dun Frans Camilleri in Hamrun. The police said that it was informed of the incident at around 6.30pm.

The victim is 44 years of age and it is understood that he was not carrying out any maintenance work. He was certified on site.

An investigation by the police is underway.
