Two children hospitalised in road accident

A 12-year old girl and an 8-year old boy have been hospitalised after being hit by a car in Vjal il-Kottoner in Fgura ealier today.

The incident took place at 8.45 am and was immediately reported to the police, who, upon their arrival found that a Renault Megane driven by a 45-year old Fgura resident, had hit the two children.

An ambulance was called to the scene and took both chidlren to Mater Dei Hospital for treatment.

The girl as certified to be having sustained grievous injuries, while the boy's injuries are understood as having been classifed as minor.

A police investigation is underway.
