A thief and his accomplice have been handed conditional discharges for stealing from premises in Gzira belonging to baked goods producer Golden Harvest.

Leonard Seisun, 32, had been accused of theft, whilst Helen Agius, 39, had been charged with complicity, having been the getaway driver.

On 20th June this year, Magistrate Ian Farrugia heard Seisun and Agius admit to having stolen aluminium and other objects from Golden Harvest in 2012, five years after they were charged.

The court also witnessed the two accused paying their victims €250 each by way of compensation, during the June 20 sitting and took this into consideration in sentencing.

In view of their guilty plea, the court found the pair guilty, discharging them on condition that they do not commit another crime in 18 months. Inspector Saviour Baldacchino prosecuted.
